Diagnosing Your Gum Disease

At our Gum Disease Center, we do a thorough exam of your teeth and gums.

We start with necessary X-Rays to enable us to visualize the bone that supports your teeth. The bone is part of the foundation that keeps your teeth in place.

Next, we measure the spaces between the gum and the teeth. This is a painless procedure that tells us how tight the gums are around your teeth. The gums are another part of the foundation that keeps your teeth in place.

Then, using our state of the art microscope, we analyze your saliva from under your gums. This is another painless procedure that enables us to visualize the quantity, type of bacteria, and other organisms that are reproducing under your gums. These harmful organisms are what spread to other parts of your body. They also give off toxins and cause an inflammatory reaction in your body. After the treatment phase, we also check the saliva to see if the harmful bacteria are eliminated.

Our microscopes are connected to televisions, enabling you, as well as the doctor, to see these harmful creatures.
